Ingredients #
- 500 g beef brisket
- 2 potatoes
- 2 carrots
- Light soy sauce
- Salt
- Cooking oil (optional)
- Water
Instructions #
Remove the beef smell #
- Cut the beef into large chunks
- Put the beef into a pot with cold water (no seasoning)
- Bring to a boil and cook for 3–5 minutes
- Skim off the foam, remove the beef, and rinse with warm water This step is very important for clean flavor
Simmer the beef #
- Add a little oil to the pot (or skip the oil)
- Add the beef and lightly stir
- Add water to cover the beef
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat
- Simmer for 1.5–2 hours
Add vegetables #
- Cut potatoes and carrots into chunks
- When the beef is tender, add the vegetables
- Add 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- Simmer for 15–20 minutes until soft
Season and serve #
- Taste the soup
- Add salt if needed
- Serve hot
