Beef Brisket with Potatoes & Carrots

Ingredients #

  • 500 g beef brisket
  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • Light soy sauce
  • Salt
  • Cooking oil (optional)
  • Water

Instructions #

Remove the beef smell #

  • Cut the beef into large chunks
  • Put the beef into a pot with cold water (no seasoning)
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 3–5 minutes
  • Skim off the foam, remove the beef, and rinse with warm water This step is very important for clean flavor

Simmer the beef #

  • Add a little oil to the pot (or skip the oil)
  • Add the beef and lightly stir
  • Add water to cover the beef
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat
  • Simmer for 1.5–2 hours

Add vegetables #

  • Cut potatoes and carrots into chunks
  • When the beef is tender, add the vegetables
  • Add 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • Simmer for 15–20 minutes until soft

Season and serve #

  • Taste the soup
  • Add salt if needed
  • Serve hot

Result #

  • Clean, natural beef flavor
  • Soft potatoes that slightly thicken the soup
  • Light, comforting, and not greasy
